Extended deadline for European Young Journalist Awards

The deadline for the European Young Journalist Awards has been extended!

The deadline for the European Young Journalist Awards is NOT this Saturday (15th March) but Sunday!Journalists are asked to submit an article about the enlargement of the European Union, giving it any angle – from serious and critical, to funny and original, anything goes.

Entries can be written in one of the official EU languages or one of the languages of the candidate and potential candidate countries. Please remember that articles that have been published online can still run for the competition. Also, if you cannot publish your article you can contact the Forum for European Journalists (FEJS), who can publish your article on their website!! (e-mail Colijn Verkempinck – cocico@gmail.com)

This is a great opportunity for journalists to be recognised and to network in the media industry, in an event run by the European Commission and the European Youth Press. All winners from the 35 countries involved will go on a trip through the West Balkans, where they can meet the other winners and attend a final conference, together with high level media professionals and decision makers.Articles will be evaluated by experienced journalists from your country, and some of the journalists involved in this project are working for media such as „Süddeutsche Zeitung” (Germany), Le Figaro (France), Irish Times (Ireland), Delfi.lv (Latvia), BIRN network (Balkan Region) or Polityka (Poland).
