Apples vs. Ideas

by Denisa Nica

A very dear Social Sciences teacher once told me a beautiful story:

Imagine that everybody has an apple. If two people, each havin’ one apple, meet and exchange the apples, both of them leave home with just one apple. But if two people, each of them havin’ an idea, meet and exchange the ideas, both of them leave home with two ideas.

Somehow that’s how I see ASJC’s actions. That’s why we gather weekly around a big table and talk for hours. Most of the times we find no solutions, but each time we leave home with the same apple we brought to discussion, but with other ideas as well. Extending, that’s what Europe is all about.
